Next call with Richard Unger: How indecision shows up in hands
By jenagriffiths | December 11, 2010
"I used to think I was indecisive. But now I'm not too sure."
;-)
The next call with with Richard Unger is next Thursday 8pm Swiss time,
2pm Eastern, 11am Pacific.
The topic is indecision.
For more information or to register click here.
During the call we'll be exploring all the different ways indecision,
"fence sitting" or not being able to choose shows up in hands.
Indecisiveness has many different sources. As usual, clearly
understanding the root cause of the problem is the first step to
solving it.
How to be more decisive?
Here are 2 Actions you can take right now:
1. When you can't decide: tune into your body, breathe deeply. Hold the
decision you are thinking of taking in your mind. Then ask yourself: do
I feel lighter or heavier?
If you feel lighter this is the right decision. if you feel heavier
this is not the right choice for you right now.
This is the principle on which kineseology works. Your body absolutely
knows the answer. Trust it.
2. take one small step. It doesn't really matter which way. This ends
the deadlock. Think of those travel games where one has a picture on
sliding blocks. The picture starts off looking scrambled and one has to
slide the blocks around until the picture is unscrambled. If we just
stare atthe puzzle without moving anything we can't see a solution and
get blocked. However, if you move a piece, this opens up all sorts of
other possibilities.
You can then see if the move was a good one or not. If it wasn't one
can always retract back.
This is just one of many techniques we'll be discussing on the call:

Healer burnout: are you suffering from "compassion fatigue"?
By jenagriffiths | November 29, 2010
"Healing is more about being, and less about doing". Prit Gill MD
I'm just off the call with Dr Prit Gill MD on the topic healer burnout.
He made some profound points on the nature of healing and the role of
the healer in society.
Dr Gill gave useful advice to help healers from all traditions avoid
the natural danger of healer burnout.
Gill said all healers experience burnout at some point in their career
We discussed high risk personality traits for burnout such as
* feelings of uniqueness
* an unyielding sense of conviction
* and visions of grandiosity
As well as behavioural risk factors such as:
* isolation from peers and society
* a singular life focus
* a failure to transition from life mission to vocation with a
passion.
Cures discussed included
* developing and nurturing friendships with peers,
* the importance of balance and having other interests
* setting healthy boundaries and
* the need to let go and allow clients to be in charge of their own
life process.
We also discussed compassion, deeksha, spiral meditation and how
healing occurs.
Dr Gill said that healing is more about being and less about doing. The
healer enables the patient to heal themselves by by "holding the fears
of the patient at bay."
We discussed the appropriateness of letting go verus holding clients.
Sometimes by scheduling the next appointment the client feels held.
It's a simple way of creating a "space" for healing to take place.

Who is Dr Prit Gill?
Dr Gill was born and raised in rural black tribal Africa and had his
early formal education grounded in Africa. Hence he absorbed the tenets
of practice as well as the role and influence of the traditional
African Medicine man and his art very early in his career. Time
invested at a Catholic monastically driven seminary allowed him an
education into the medieval healing rituals of early western tradition.
Because of circumstances related to his family's spiritual roots he is
deeply steeped and influenced by the heritage of Eastern thought and
faiths (Buddhist/Hindu/Sikh) as they pertain to the healing of human
physical and psychic pain.
In addition having for many years worked intimately with relatively
isolated Native American populations on Indian Reservations in Oklahoma
and North Dakota, Dr Gill has also assimilated into his perceptual
universe the ancient healing wisdom of Native Americans.
